Verified 2 Day Trip - Fes - Marrakech
I was looking for a great way to experience Africa and when we scored a good deal to Morocco, we knew we would have fun! That being said, we wanted to make sure we saw everything Morocco had to offer and started looking for a guide to show us the Morroco we knew we wouldn't find on our own. We have been all over so we didn't need help in the big two cities, Fes and Marrakech but everything in between seemed like a daunting task so we luckily stumbled upon Fancy Tours via our AIRBNB host in Fes. Elghali came and scooped us up in Fes and off we went! First we got acquainted and he said, "Whatever you need, let me know and I'll make it happen" and he wasn't lying. We stopped for a quick traditional breakfast and Elghali made sure we were treated fairly with portions and price. Then off we went to Mazougah to experience the Sahara. It was 6 hours but was spaced nicely with photo opportunities and breaks. We never went hungry or thirsty and we got to see some really cool local events too. A small market, a local purified water stop, and other things that I truly believe we only saw because of Elghali. We stopped for lunch at a local place that was reminiscent of road trips I've taken over the years in the states. Eventually the trip started to fade into the mountains and conversations until we arrived at the "Gateway to the desert". Camels, mountains, and that orange-ish glimmering same awaited. Elghali handed us off to our Berber guides and we rode into the desert for a night in the Sahara. It was all planned for us and went smoothly. It was maybe a 6 mile camel ride into the desert where we ended up at a bivouac, tent, campsite. There were many other adventure seekers and we settled in for dinner and traditional music. It was a great event and I can't stop talking about it! We woke up the next morning, mounted the camels, and watched a desert sunrise! An hour later we met back with Elghali for breakfast and we headed to Ouarzazate, where they filmed some of Game of Thrones!!We were treated to a nice hotel and a delicious local dinner! The next morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed to Marrakech. On the way we enjoyed more sightseeing and conversation until we finally reached our destination. It was a 2-day journey that didn't feel near that long! All I can say is, whether it's your first, second, or hundredth time, if you want a comprehensive tour, I highly recommend Fancy Tours - Morocco. It was nice that we had a company that knows the country, culture, roads, and customer service! Sean, from South Carolina
